The next chapter for New Haven.

Finish key connections

Bring the New Haven District to life

Support balanced growth

Encourage housing choices and commercial, office, retail and restaurant investment while respecting the city’s historic character and established neighborhoods.

Keep investing in infrastructure

Continue a practical, long-range approach to streets, sidewalks, water, sewer, drainage and accessibility—prioritizing needs and responsible use of public resources.

Strengthen public safety and regional partnerships

Work with police, fire and EMS leadership and regional partners to support dependable emergency services and address shared challenges.

Keep residents informed

Build on Activate New Haven, public meetings and direct communication so residents can follow projects, ask questions and understand decisions.

A continuing challenge for New Haven is blocked railroad crossings. The City has also pursued state and federal attention to the issue, recognizing that meaningful solutions require cooperation beyond local government.

Open communication matters. Residents are encouraged to stay engaged, ask questions and share what they want to see for New Haven’s future.
